ROCHELLE — Thomas Arthur Misciasci Sr., 78, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 8 at his home in Rochelle. Tom was born on July 31, 1943, to Arthur and Helen Misciasci in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked at Caron International as a textile chemist for many years. On March 5, 1999, he married Sally Greffe in Jamaica.
Tom was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a loving and dedicated care giver to his wife, Sally.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sally of Rochelle; five children: Thomas (Gina) Misciasci Jr. of Burleson, Texas, Tammy Mellor of Rochelle, Denise (David) Fry of Rochelle, Edward (Julie) Greffe of Gobles, Michigan and Daniel (Tanya) Greffe of Newark, Illinois; 12 grandchildren: Stephanie (Jed Frey) Misciasci, Anthony (Kelsie) Misciasci, Krystal (Owen) Freeman, Katelynn (Cody) Clark, Amanda (Charles Kinney) Fry, Wesley (Krystyn) Mellor, Hannah Misciasci, Kelsey Crosby, Emma Greffe, Sarah Greffe, Tucker Greffe and Avery Greffe; 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Kathy (Mark) Misciasci of Marco Island, Florida and Maureen Cannon of Berea, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his infant son, Terry Misciasci; two sisters: MaryLou Misciasci and Madeline Harrington; brothers-in-law, Robert Cannon and Michael Harrington and son-in-law, Bradley Mellor.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating.
