Three being charged in Thursday night shooting

One man dead

ROCHELLE — Rochelle police are charging three individuals in a homicide that occurred Thursday evening in Rochelle.

At 9:11 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, officers were called for a possible shooting in the 1100 block of First Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Devin S. Bailey, of Oregon, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Rochelle Police Department and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit are conducting an investigation. Rochelle police were assisted on scene by the Rochelle Fire Department and Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.

Charged in the incident are Cody Neuschwanger, 24, Polo, for first-degree murder and mob action, and two 17-year-old juveniles, also of Polo, for mob action.

Neuschwanger was transported to Ogle County Jail. The juveniles were released to their parents.

Neuschwanger's bond was set at $500,000 by an Ogle County Court judge Friday.
