MAPLE PARK — The Hubs freshman baseball team has been cruising at the plate over its past few games, but the bats cooled down on Tuesday in a 14-4 loss to the Kaneland Knights.
Ethan Etes went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI to lead the Rochelle offense, while Seth Gould went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Nick Albers and Charlie Jandak both scored runs for the Hubs, who drop to 3-4 on the season, and Austin Greifenkamp went 2-for-3 with two singles.
Nolan Andersen took the mound to start the game, with Devlen Buh, Jandak and Albers pitching in relief. The boys combined to strike out five batters, with four of those going to Andersen. The freshmen will play Kaneland at home on Thursday.
