ROSELLE — The Rochelle Area Track Club competed in the 2019 DuPage Track Invitational at Lake Park High School on Saturday. Several local participants brought home awards for their respective performances during the event.

8 & Under

Megan Johnson placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 21.10 seconds and first in the javelin throw with a distance of 5.30 meters. Gavin Smith finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 20.44 seconds and Michael Abell placed fourth in 26.52 seconds. Smith took sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 45.87 seconds.

Smith, Abell, Zane Lawrence and Tristan Lawrence earned the top four spots in the long jump with marks of 2.20 meters, 1.74 meters and 1.60 meters. Zane and Tristan Lawrence took first and second in the shot put with marks of 2.34 meters and 1.66 meters. Abell, Zane and Tristan Lawrence finished first, second and third in the javelin throw with distances of 8.55 meters, 3.12 meters and 2.78 meters.

Leiya Smith took 10^th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.05 seconds and 10^th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 35.29 seconds. Smith placed fifth in the long jump with a length of 2.89 meters and Liliana Lawrence finished fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 7.32 meters.

Christopher Nambo placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.82 seconds and Cristopher Lawrence took fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:40.28. Nambo, Bevan Clark and Lawrence finished third, fourth and fifth in the long jump with marks of 2.52 meters, 2.07 meters and 2.06 meters. Lawrence placed second in the javelin throw with a distance of 8.16 meters.

Maggie Carter placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.39 seconds while Brisa Zepeda (16.18) took 17^th and Adyson Carter (20.30) finished 19^th. Rochelle’s 400-meter relay team of Zepeda, Maggie Carter, Adyson Carter and Savanna Wilson won with a time of 1:07.54.

Maggie Carter took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 3.82 meters, while Zepeda (2.77) and Adyson Carter (1.48) placed 12^th and 13^th. Nolan Johnson finished ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.27 seconds and third in the javelin throw with a distance of 17.70 meters.

Kylie Smith finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:11.07 and Caleb Johnson placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.22 seconds. Johnson and Abel Huerta took fourth and seventh in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:12.72 and 1:17.56. Huerta and Luis Pizano finished fourth and fifth in the 800-meter run with times of 2:53.87 and 2:54.82.

Pizano placed first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 6:06.12, and Huerta finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 7.07 meters. Huerta took second in the long jump with a mark of 2.75 meters. Johnson finished fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 18.76 meters.

15-16

Josue Huerta finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.36 and second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:09.58.

17-18

Jacob Nations took 18^th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.86 seconds and Nations finished tied for fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.68 meters. Parker Hale placed sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.63 meters, and Nations finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.48 meters while taking fifth in the long jump with a mark of 4.90 meters.
