STILLMAN VALLEY — The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub track and field teams went head-to-head against Stillman Valley in nonconference action Monday evening. The Lady Hubs scored a 94-26 win over the Cardinals, while the Hubs fell 69-67 in a closely fought matchup.
Senior Sylvia Hasz won the shot put with a distance of 9.56 meters, while freshman Aaliyah Losoya placed second at 8.60 meters and junior Samantha Sanford took third at 7.80 meters. Hasz and Sanford finished first and second in the discus throw with respective distances of 25.07 meters and 22.34 meters. Senior Teagan Meyers and junior Macy Ramos finished first and second in the high jump with respective clearances of 1.48 meters and 1.23 meters.
Meyers won the triple jump with a distance of 9.90 meters and sophomore Kennedy Adamski took third at 8.66 meters. Rochelle’s 400-meter relay team (Liberty Hayes, Rylee Jackson, Alex Neece and Alivia Henkel) won in 53.71 seconds. Neece and freshman Marianna Saldana took first and second in the 100-meter hurdles with times of 21.20 seconds and 21.50 seconds.
Hayes won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.37 seconds, while Henkel placed second with a time of 13.47 seconds and Jackson took third with a time of 14.47 seconds. Junior Yuelma Ortiz won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:47.43, while senior Sara Johnson placed second with a time of 2:50.41 and freshman Zoe White took third with a time of 3:05.03. Rochelle’s 800-meter relay team (Hayes, Meyers, Saldana and Neece) won with a time of 2:02.51.
White and freshman Bridgett Ramirez placed second and third in the 400-meter dash with respective times of 1:19.09 and 1:25.96. Henkel and Johnson took first and second in the 300-meter hurdles with times of 51.04 seconds and 1:02.93. Hayes and Saldana finished second and third in the 200-meter dash with times of 28.84 seconds and 32.06 seconds. Rochelle’s 1600-meter relay team (Meyers, Kylie Smith, Jackson and Henkel) won in 4:46.07.
Rochelle landed the top four finishers in the shot put including senior Zach Sanford (13.94 meters), sophomore Carlos Tomas (10.69 meters), junior John Jarrett (10.41 meters) and junior Landon DeLille (10.33 meters). Sanford and senior Ryan Simmons finished first and third in the discus throw with respective distances of 36.42 meters and 26.37 meters. Simmons won the high jump with a clearance of 1.73 meters and freshman Jack Tilton took third at 1.58 meters.
Junior Griffin Ohlinger took third in the long jump with a distance of 5.34 meters. Sophomore Nathan Sergeant and junior Trey Taft went first and second in the triple jump with respective distances of 10.94 meters and 10.70 meters. Rochelle’s 3200-meter relay team (Josue Huerta, Abel Huerta, Luis Hernandez and Thomas Koziol) won with a time of 10:16.78.
Rochelle’s 400-meter relay team (Tilton, Hayden Inman, Anlun Meyers and Max Orlikowski) placed second with a time of 51.48 seconds. Ohlinger won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.88 seconds and sophomore Irving Escalante finished fourth in 11.95 seconds. Koziol and Josue Huerta placed second and third in the 800-meter run with times of 2:28.38 and 2:39.86.
Rochelle’s 800-meter relay team (Troy Papke, Inman, Tilton and Orlikowski) won in 1:52.28. Escalante and Simmons finished first and third in the 400-meter dash with times of 56.89 seconds and 59.43 seconds. Freshman Kenny Overton took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 21.91 seconds and Escalante won the 200-meter dash in 24.58 seconds. Rochelle’s 1600-meter relay team (A. Huerta, J. Huerta, Papke and Orlikowski) placed second in 4:26.50.
