ROCKFORD — Building on an extremely successful early-summer, Trinadora announces an exciting schedule of upcoming musical performances. Whether as a duo (Jannie Nelson and Ron Holm) or with the Trinadora Band (adding John Bishoff on lead guitar and Tim Austin on percussion), Trinadora’s unusually wide musical variety, range of instruments, musicianship, and ability to channel the music of Roy Orbison and Patsy Cline has made them one of the busiest groups in our community.
Earlier this summer, the 325 listeners who attended the band’s Orbison-Cline retrospective at Concerts On The Creek broke the venue’s previous record by 25.
“It’s such a delight to see so many listeners at our events,” mused Nelson in a recent interview. “We love playing for even one or two listeners, but it is so affirming when larger groups turn out, and their energy is contagious.”
Trinadora recently announced their late-summer schedule to their newsletter recipients, and are they are eager to share it with the public.
Holm added, “Two of our upcoming programs – the Sept. 24 Cline, Orbison, Denver, and Diamond program at Nordlof with Denny Diamond and Chip Messiner and the Oct. 28 Orbison Black and White night masquerade reenactment at Klehm – appear to be on the way to selling out, and we are trying to let all our friends know early so they can obtain tickets.”
Tickets are available via the www.trinadora.com website or by phoning 815-979-1949.
Reflecting on Trinadora’s musical philosophy, Nelson explained, “We enjoy doing our Cline and Orbison retrospective, but many of our performances are a potpourri of contemporary and original songs, and our approach to music resembles AM radio in the early 1960s. Back then you could hear Dave Brubeck playing intricate 5/4 jazz, then Bill Haley playing a wild 12-bar blues, then Patti Page crooning a pop standard, and then Johnny Horton playing a rockabilly song. We love that variety.”
