Two injured in accident


On April 29 at approximately 4:40 p.m., deputies along with Dixon Rural Fire/EMS responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries in the 800 block of West Flagg Road. After an investigation was conducted, it was learned that Andrew McCray, 66, of Chana, and Michael McCray, 27, of Ashton, were traveling eastbound on Flagg Road operating separate motorcycles when Andrew lost control and crashed in the south ditch.  Andrew received multiple injuries due to the crash and was transported to KSB Hospital.  Andrew was charged with D.U.I and received addition citations for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed and driving on the shoulder. Due to Andrew’s injuries he was issued an I-bond with a future court date. Michael was also charged with D.U.I and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On April 26 the following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
Michael Sharpe, 45, of Chicago for driving while license suspended. Sharpe had a bond of $3,000/10 percent, and Sharpe was able to post bond. Sharpe was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return to court on May 24.
Alexandra Schaefer , 27, of Rochelle, for motion to increase bond. Schaefer has a bond of $10,000/10 percent. Schaefer did not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Schaefer was scheduled to appear in court April 29.
April 29
On April 29 the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Joseph Bull, 59, of Rock Falls, for failure to appear. Bull has a full cash bond of $636 and was scheduled to appear in court April 30.
Frank Sherwood, 75, of Rochelle, for disorderly conduct. Sherwood has a bond of $5,000/10 percent and was scheduled to appear in court April 30.
Timothy Mccullough, 26, of Dixon, for failure to appear. Mccullough has a full cash bond of $717 and was scheduled to appear in court April 30.
April 30
On April 30, the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Steven Brothers, 35, of Plymouth, Indiana, for possession of a controlled substance. Brothers posted the $10,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Brothers was given a return court date of May 17.
Namiko Sheely, 47, of Polo, for failure to appear. Sheely posted the full cash bond of $452.71 and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.
May 1
On May 1 the Ogle County Sheriff’s office arrested Allen Jimerson, 19, of Davenport, Iowa, for driving while license suspended. Jimerson was arrested by deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Jimerson was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
On May 1 the following people were arrested for Ogle Outstanding warrants:
Van Meneweather, 28, of Rockford, for failure to appear. Meneweather has a bond of $633 and was scheduled to appear in court May 2.
Matthew Gabbard, 30, of Dixon, for failure to appear. Gabbard has a bond of $628 and was scheduled to appear in court May 2.
May 3
On May 3 at 11:23 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9000 block of North Illinois Route 26 for a traffic violation. After an investigation, and assistance from the Ogle County K-9 unit, Jered Allison, 20, of Freeport, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis 30-100 grams, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Allison was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On May 3 the following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Nicholas Pillion, 18, of Rochelle, for failure to appear and resisting a peace officer. Pillion a bond of $1,500/10 percent and $331 full cash. Pillion will appear in court on May 6.
Michael Iozzo, 52, of Byron, for failure to appear. Iozzo has a full cash bond of $5,330 and will appear in court on May 6.
May 4
On May 4 at approximately 12:31 a.m., deputies conducted a motorist assist in the 7000 block of East Illinois Route 64, where they identified the driver as James Smitham, 79, of Roscoe. After a short investigation deputies arrested Smitham for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Smitham was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
