ROCHELLE — Good Time Oldies 1060 WRHL, 102.3 The Coyote and Anderson Plumbing and Heating of Rochelle, along with many community-minded businesses present the 14th Annual Two Ton Thanksgiving Food Drive on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Anderson Plumbing and Heating in Rochelle.  All food and money collected will be donated to the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry.

Also this year, food and money has been collected at other locations prior to the Food Drive at Anderson’s on Thursday. By making a donation you will be qualified to win an autographed pink electric guitar from Country Thunder Twin Lakes, gift baskets from G&M Distributors (Bud Light/Goose Island) Pepsi in the 815, Dunkin' Donuts, a cooler from Rochelle Tobacco and Liquor and tickets to Legoland Discovery Center.

“The need in the community is great and we need everyone’s help. We are looking for donations of food, or a $20 bill or two, or whatever someone can afford,” Good Time Oldies 1060 WRHL and 102.3 The Coyote General Manager Gary Petersen said. “For every $20 donation, a family of four will have everything they need for a great Thanksgiving meal.”

Donors have stepped up to the plate every year.

“The last 13 years have been tremendous and we hope this year can be even better. We ask everyone to gather whatever they can, food, cash, or write a check, and drop it off at Anderson’s on Nov. 21,” Petersen added.

Last year’s food drive set an all-time record, raising more than $10,000 in monitory donations and over 3 tons of food to help those less fortunate.

The food will be distributed from Anderson Plumbing and Heating, 621 1st Ave., Rochelle, on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., or until all the boxes are gone.

Good Time Oldies 1060 WRHL and 102.3 The Coyote will be broadcasting throughout the event from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. that day.
