ROCHELLE — A vendors and crafters quarter auction will be held on Thursday, May 2 in Rochelle and proceeds will benefit the Jennifer Underhill Hope Walk, which raising money and brings awareness to domestic violence.
Underhill was a Rochelle native who lost her life last year in Romeoville during a tragic domestic violence incident. Attendees of the auction will also be able to register for the walk in Jennifer's honor.
The auction is being held at the Hickory Grove Banquet & Conference Center, located at 1127 N. 7th St. with more than 20 vendors on hand for the event which will begin at 6 p.m.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and attendees will purchase numbered paddles and each vendor will offer up auction items to be bid on with quarters and awarded in a number drawing.
Paddles cost $5 each or three for $10 and they will be used for the entire auction.
"This will be a fun unique event that guests will enjoy," said organizer Beth Kvool. "We will also have a cash bar, a 50/50 raffle and a chance to do some shopping from our vendors. Money raised will be donated to the Hope Walk, so bring your roll of quarters."
