ROCHELLE — While addressing a crowd of supporters on Saturday afternoon at his annual golf play day fundraiser, Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle officially announced he will be running for a second term.
The sheriff spoke to a large group in the banquet room at Salt 251, where golfers had dinner after playing 18-holes earlier in the day at Fairways Golf Course.
VanVickle, of Rochelle, won a close three-way sheriff's race in 2014 over challenger Joe Drought and incumbent Michael Harn.
The next election for sheriff will be in November 2018.
