September has come and gone.
As with most construction projects, the city hit a few snags on the sidewalk project, with one of them being the tremendous amount of rain we had this past month. We are now tentatively scheduled to have our sidewalks replaced in mid-October. Call the Senior Center if you are unsure if we are open or not.
We sure hope we don’t have to be closed for too long because we have an awesome October planned at the Hub City Senior Center.
The third annual Oktoberfest is this Saturday, Oct. 5 with a light lunch of sloppy Joes, chips, a relish tray, etc. and drinks being served at noon. The Mike Schneider Polka band straight out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will once again provide the music from 1 to 4 p.m. Transportation is available, just call us to schedule your ride. This event is being brought to you in partnership with the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library. We have done this for three years in a row now and it is a blast. I hope you can join us. This event is complimentary and there is no ticket required. It’s our gift to you.
Flu Shots will be given on Monday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Stop in for a shot and enjoy a pumpkin bar and cup of coffee with us. Read inside for more details.
