A precautionary boil order has been issued in the area of School Ave. after a water main break Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Jan. 16, RMU water operators repaired the water main break in the School Ave. area. As a result of the work, a precautionary boil order has been issued for customers on the east side of Caron Road and south of IL Route 38 and also along School Ave.
Notices will be distributed to the affected customers. The boil order will last at least 24 hours.
As a reminder during the precautionary boil order, all customers in the affected area should boil all water used for drinking and cooking for a minimum of 5 minutes before using. Customers will be notified once the boil order is lifted and the water is safe to drink.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the RMU Customer Service office at 815-562-4155.
