OREGON — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Lt. Ken Wendt on his retirement after 28 years in a Facebook post Thursday.
Wendt began his career in corrections before moving to the patrol division and then investigations. He was first promoted to detective corporal in 2007. He served as a detective sergeant and patrol sergeant before being promoted to patrol operations commander in 2019.
Wendt’s father, Master Sgt. Rodney Wendt, previously worked for and retired from the Illinois State Police.
“Thank you for your many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ogle County,” the post said. “You will be missed.”
