Why being a Scout is important to me

I am working on a special project to earn my Scout News Reporter Patch from the Blackhawk Area Council. I’m going to tell you why being a scout is important to me.
My name is Matrix. I am a Wolf Scout in Cub Scout Pack 553 in Rochelle, Illinois. My Dad and Mom are my Den Leaders. We have three boys in our Den. We learn a lot about life skills and safety in the outdoors.
Some of my favorite adventures have been learning about germs, fishing, first responders, shooting and archery at day camp, how air works, duty to God and finding fossils was fun too.

We went on a hike and took our six essentials: A first aid kit, whistle, compass, trail food, water, sunblock, our hats and a flashlight. It is important to be safe.
We have den and pack meetings. We learn and study to earn our belt badges by doing adventures. We also get to go to day camp at Camp Lowden. It is a lot of fun.
We sell popcorn too. It is really good. You can learn a lot of life skills too. Boys and girls can join Scouting and have fun learning. I wish more of my friends would join Scouting.
Being a Scout is important to me.
