William (Bill) George Oake, 82, of Rockford, peacefully passed from this earth to enter eternity with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 22 in his home surrounded by his large, loving family.

ROCKFORD — William (Bill) George Oake, 82, of Rockford, peacefully passed from this earth to enter eternity with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 22 in his home surrounded by his large, loving family.
Born Dec. 16, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, son of William Harold and Betty Eleanor (Landerkin) Oake, Bill married his high school sweetheart Anita Marie Bourdon on Aug. 15, 1957 in Winnipeg.
A loyal patriot, he served in the United States Army.
As a self-employed electrician, Bill ran two successful businesses during his lifetime, B & B Electric in Rochelle and Northern Electric in Rockford. He was a godly, Christian man and a charter member of Grace Reformed Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for nearly 30 years. Bill was a man of integrity, honesty and generosity.
He was a faithful and loving husband, father, Papa, Great Papa and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; daughters, Jennifer (Dale) Smith, Cynthia (Al) Hill, Barbara (John) Huber, Catherine Gasiorowski, all of Rockford; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, with another due in October and surely many more to follow; sisters, Eleanor (late Jerry) Babel of Rockford and Joanne (David) Deaver of Spring, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amanda Joy Hill. 
Visitation on Friday, Sept. 29 from 6 -8 p.m. at Grace Reformed Baptist Church, 6310 Guilford Rd. Rockford.  Additional visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church, with funeral services at 11a.m. Pastor Dale Smith will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be made to the church. Private interment in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
