Rochelle Township High School held the 12th Annual Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation Hospital Hustle 5K this past Saturday, with 162 registered participants lacing up their shoes and cool temperatures setting the scene for runners and walkers alike.

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School held the 12th Annual Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation Hospital Hustle 5K this past Saturday, with 162 registered participants lacing up their shoes and cool temperatures setting the scene for runners and walkers alike.

28-year-old Kevin Cech and 36-year-old Trese McNinch were both overall winners of the event, with Cech clocking in at 19:07 to place first overall and lead all men while McNinch finished with a time of 21:45 to take fourth place overall lead all women. This year’s event boasted four teams including Maplehurst Farms, Central Bank, Wills Chiropractic and team champion Anytime Fitness.

Stride sponsors of this year’s event included Anytime Fitness, First National Bank of Omaha, InVironments Magazine, Midwest Orthopaedic Institute and Wills Chiropractic. Step sponsors included Central Bank, First State Bank, Managed Care Partners, Robert and Carol Elliott and Ralphie & LuLu’s.

Community sponsors were Glo Wellness Center, Holcomb Bank, Maplehurst Farms, Rock River Valley Blood Center and Stillman Bank. In-Kind sponsors were Casey’s, City of Rochelle, Culligan Water, Jimmy John’s, Rochelle News-Leader, Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District, Rochelle Township High School, The Coyote & Good Time Oldies and TechniCut Custom Engraving.

Overall

32-year-old Justin Medine finished second overall with a time of 19:59 while 14-year-old David Wanner took third place overall (20:50) and 13-year-old Anna Harvey placed fifth overall (22:01). 12-year-old Kyler McNinch finished sixth with a time of 22:05 and 32-year-old Kelly Blumenberg was seventh (22:13). 52-year-old Heather Price (22:16), 20-year-old Megan Schramm (22:38) and 36-year-old Ben Sodergren-Baar (23:06) placed eighth, ninth and tenth respectively to round out the top 10 overall finishers.

14-and-under

Harvey finished first in the 14-and-under girls group while Miraya Montes took second (34:36) and Maggie Louis was third (39:10). Wanner and McNinch finished first and second in the 14-and-under boys group with Reed Rowley taking third (28:46) and Gabriel Montes placing fourth (29:08).

15-19

Aiden Seldal finished first in the 15-to-19 boys group with a time of 24:07 and Ben Harvey placed second with a time of 26:10. Mackenzie Engbert finished first as the lone runner in the 15-to-19 girls group, clocking in at 24:18.

20-24

Schramm finished first in the 20-to-24 women’s group with Jessica Hickey placing second in 29:21 and Rachel Cardott taking third in 40:56. Matt Rosenwinkel ran as the lone participant in the 20-to-24 men’s group, finishing first in 55:33.

25-29

Cech finished first in the 25-to-29 men’s group while Terry Plemmons placed second with a time of 26:54 and Cole Barringer was third in 48:31. Lizzie Cartwright took first in the 25-to-29 women’s group with a time of 24:26, and Alison Vrana was second in 24:59 while Brittany Mileke placed third in 26:25.

30-34

Blumenberg finished first in the 30-to-34 women’s group while Natalie Crocker placed second with a time of 23:44 and Anna Adolph took third in 25:05. Medine finished first in the 30-to-34 men’s group with Eric Bolander taking second in 24:18 and Brad Crocker placing third in 24:37.

35-39

Sodergren-Baar finished first in the 35-to-39 men’s group while Chris Carmichael placed second with a time of 26:24 and Dale Wells took third with a time of 40:22. McNinch finished first in the 35-to-39 women’s group with Mandy Hale taking second in 25:39 and Jayme McCombs placed third in 25:40.

40-44

Carrie Messinger finished first in the 40-to-44 women’s group with a time of 26:35 while Angelica Montes placed second with a time of 33:45 and Trisha Drake was third in 35:18. Jon Jones finished first as the lone racer in the 40-to-44 men’s group with a time of 48:19.

45-49

Todd Drager finished first as the lone runner in the 45-to-49 men’s group with a time of 26:43. Stephanie Herrmann finished first in the 45-to-49 women’s group with a time of 26:57 while Melody Worthington placed second in 30:04 and Elisa Perkins was third in 36:02.

50-54

Price finished first in the 50-to-54 women’s group while Sandra Lightner placed second with a time of 26:42 and Cherie Hayes took third with a time of 36:05. Jeff Tilton finished first in the 50-to-54 men’s group with a time of 25:39 with Steve Dehotal taking second in 30:08.

55-59

George Wilhelmsen finished first in the 55-to-59 men’s group with a time of 33:20 with Kevin Barringer taking second in 50:50. T.J. Yordy finished first in the 55-to-59 women’s group with a time of 32:54 while Diane Wilhelmsen was second in 33:30 and Lesa Kelly took third in 37:22.

60-64

Shirley Pelletier finished first as the lone racer in the 60-to-64 women’s group with a time of 41:17. Carl Norlin finished first in the 60-to-64 men’s group with a time of 29:14 while Philip Yordy was second in 36:59 and Mike Pence took third in 38:26.

65-69

Frederick Schwantes finished first in the 65-to-69 men’s group with a time of 23:30 with Mark Jordan placing second in 35:33 and Charlie Johnson taking third in 37:11. Karen Bonnell finished first in the 65-to-69 women’s group with a time of 29:09 while Marilyn Balch took second in 32:54 and Jan Hart was third in 39:06.

70-79

Barbara Price finished first in the 70-to-79 women’s group with a time of 50:24 while Esther Prabhakar was second in 53:21 and both Mary Anne Louis and Jan Aubry took third in 55:24. Neil Swanson finished first in the 70-to-79 men’s group with a time of 41:08 while John Prabhakar was second in 54:18.
