Wisconsin man arrested after leaving scene of accident

On July 31 at 2:10 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the 8300 block of N. Illinios Route 251. While in route, witnesses report the offending car had left the scene and it was reported the only occupant was injured. The vehicle was located and stopped near the intersection of N. Illinois 251 and N. Illinois Route 72. The driver, Jonathon R. Leverton, 27, of Monroe, Wisconsin, was transported to SwedishAmerican by New Milford Ambulance. He was arrested at the hospital for DUI drugs, driving while revoked, and numerous other charges. He was released with a September court date.
On Aug. 1 at 3 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to the railroad crossing in Chana in regard to a motorcycle accident involving a truck. Upon arrival it was determined that Brian L. Balch, 43, of rural Chana, was traveling southbound on Chana Road in his work truck. Balch struck the rear of a motorcycle driven by Thomas Thompson, 76, of Rochelle. Thompson was taken to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. Balch was not injured. Balch was cited for failing to reduce his speed to avoid an accident and Thompson was cited for violation of classification (no Class M license).
On Aug. 2 at approximately 6:41 a.m., Ogle County deputies along with the Oregon Fire Department, responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the 3900 block of South Ridge Road. The pedestrian was transported to Mercy Hospital for his injuries. This accident remains under investigation.   
On Aug. 3 at approximately 4:55 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of IL Route 2 and Canal Street in Grand Detour.  After investigation, deputies learned that Rebecca Gray, 41, of Dixon, had a suspended Illinois driver’s license. Gray was later released on an I-Bond and also issued a citation for no valid registration.
