PLAINFIELD — Six Rochelle Wrestling Club members brought home first-place finishes when the Junior Hubs participated in the Plainfield Battle of the Plains on Sunday, Jan. 5. Winners included Chase Marruffo, Phinehas Nadig, Elijah Nadig, Teddy Millard, Zachary Johnson and Tommy Tourdot.
Both Marruffo (3-0) and Phinehas (3-0) won titles in the Tots Division, while Rowen Villalobos (2-1) placed second in his bracket and Lennox Ordaz finished fourth. Millard (3-0) and Elijah (3-0) were crowned champions in the Bantam Division, with Garrett Miller (2-1) taking second in his bracket and three grapplers including Landon Johnson (1-2), Brantley Koenig (1-2) and Emilyn Voight (1-2) placing third.
Johnson (4-0) won four matches to win his bracket in the Intermediate Division, while Aidan Lopez (3-1) placed third. Tony Milburn (2-3), Benjamin Nadig (2-3) and Roman Villalobos (2-3) all took fourth place in their respective brackets in the Novice Division.
Tourdot (5-0) led Rochelle with five victories for his title in the Senior Division, with Kaiden Morris (2-1) taking second. Joseph Nadig (2-3) and Xavier Villalobos (2-3) finished fourth in their brackets, while Weylin Nay and Brandyn Metzger took sixth.
