The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent six grapplers to compete in the Amboy Clipper Wrestling Club Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 23. Rhett Watson (2-0) brought home a first-place title in the Senior Division, while Elijah Nadig (3-0) went unbeaten for a first-place championship in the Bantam Division.

AMBOY — The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent six grapplers to compete in the Amboy Clipper Wrestling Club Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 23. Rhett Watson (2-0) brought home a first-place title in the Senior Division, while Elijah Nadig (3-0) went unbeaten for a first-place championship in the Bantam Division.

Joseph Nadig (1-1) claimed second in his Senior Division bracket on Sunday. Benjamin Nadig (2-1) also placed second in the tournament, wrestling in the Novice Division. Phinehas Nadig and Chase Marruffo represented Rochelle in the Tots Division, with both Nadig (1-2) and Marruffo (1-2) taking third in their respective brackets.

Rochelle will compete in the IKWF Byron Regional on Sunday, March 1. Qualifying Intermediate, Novice and Senior Division grapplers will advance to the IKWF Rochelle Sectional on March 7. The IKWF State Championships run from March 12-14 at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, and the 20th Annual Midget State Championships are scheduled for March 20-22 in Danville.
