Wrestling Club: Junior Hubs shine at Stillman Valley Holiday Championships

Eight grapplers bring home first-place finishes

STILLMAN VALLEY — The Rochelle Wrestling Club season continued with the Stillman Valley Holiday Championships on Sunday, Dec. 22. Nearly 30 grapplers participated in the tournaments, with eight Junior Hubs bringing home first-place titles.

Four members wrestled in the Tots Division including Rowen Villalobos (2-1) and Nehemiah Andronic (3-1) who each placed second in their respective brackets. Nicanor Anaya finished fourth while Danny Johnson took fifth.

Two Bantam Division grapplers from Rochelle won titles including Quentin Ansteth (3-0) and Emilyn Voight (3-0). Quaid Heitz (2-1), Teddy Millard (2-1) and Elijah Nadig (2-1) all placed second in their respective brackets, while Dominic Escatel (1-2) and Garrett Miller (1-2) both finished third. Landon Johnson (1-2), Kollins Anaya and Steel Manning took fourth.

Zachary Johnson (3-0) was the lone Intermediate Division wrestlers to win a title on Sunday. Aidan Lopez (1-2) took third while Benjamin Morris finished fourth.

Deegan Schabacker (3-0) led the Novice Division grapplers with a first-place finish in the Stillman Valley event. Roman Villalobos (2-1) placed second in his bracket, while Brenden Voight (1-2) and Boone Alderks (1-2) each took third.

The Senior Division featured four first-place titleists from Rochelle including Kaiden Morris (2-0), Grant Gensler (3-0), Weylin Nay (3-0) and Xavier Villalobos (3-0). Joseph Nadig (2-1) and Tommy Tourdot (2-1) both took second, while Rhett Watson finished fourth.
