DIXON — The Rochelle Wrestling Club competed in the Dixon Duals on Saturday, Jan. 4. The Junior Hubs grappled with three opponents including the Amboy Clippers, the Rock Falls Wrestling Club and the Dixon Wrestling Club.
Rochelle faced Amboy in the first dual and fell short by a score of 45-37. Five Junior Hubs recorded pins including Quentin Ansteth, who earned the Fastest Pin Award in 17 seconds. Benjamin Nadig, Bobby Tourdot, Zachary Johnson and Quaid Heitz also pinned their opponents. Elijah Nadig won with a 10-1 major decision, while Teddy Millard was victorious by 6-1 decision.
The Junior Hubs battled with Rock Falls second, coming up short by a score of 39-31. Three Rochelle wrestlers pinned opponents including Rowen Villalobos, Zachary Johnson and Benjamin Nadig. Boone Alderks picked up a 10-2 major decision for the Junior Hubs, while Benjamin Morris, Brantley Koenig and Teddy Millard each won by decision.
Rochelle capped off the Dixon Duals with a 42-35 loss against the Dixon Wrestling Club. The Junior Hubs received pins from Silas Alsop, Brantley Koenig, Elijah Nadig and Benjamin Nadig. Emilyn Voight (10-0) and Rowen Villalobos (12-3) recorded major decisions for Rochelle, with Quaid Heitz (9-4) earning a decision in his match.
