ROCK ISLAND — Junior Caleb Nadig won two consecutive matches to medal in first place at 138 pounds in the IWCOA 2A Rock Island Super Regional on Sunday. The Rochelle Township High School wrestler will advance to the IWCOA 2A Geneseo Sectional on Saturday, June 19.
Nadig received first and second-round byes before facing off against Hampshire's Niko Skoulikaris in the semifinals, where the Hub wrestling dominated his opponent with an 18-2 technical fall at the 2:08 mark. Nadig advanced to the championship bout against Rock Island's Aoci Bernard, who Nadig defeated with a 7-4 decision to claim the title.
