WYSE team does well at competition

ROCHELLE — At the WYSE competition at Kishwaukee College on Feb. 6, Rochelle Township High School’s team defeated the Sycamore team for the second year in a row.
Individual place winners included:
Addison Curtis, second place in Biology and third place in Chemistry.
Connor Lenkaitis tied for third place in Chemistry.
Nick Whisman placed first in Chemistry in our division and he had the top score of all Chemistry test takers.
DiQuan Ishmon took third in Engineering Graphics and Mathew Malaker placed first. Mathew also had the top score of all Engineering Graphics test-takers.
Rochelle claimed all three places in the English test: Emma Mehrings third, Morgan Knight second, and Claire Plapp first.
Knight placed third in math.
Rochelle also took all the top places in the Physics test: Lexi Brown and Alex Harvey tied for third, Nick Whisman took second, and Conrad Milton placed first. Milton also had the highest physics score among all the schools there.
The WYSE team now prepares for Sectional competition in March.
