Friday night’s varsity football game at Ottawa was the first of two hurdles Rochelle needed to clear in order to keep its postseason hopes alive. The Hubs had no trouble breezing past the Pirates, though, winning 42-7 and improving to 4-4 overall while finishing 3-1 in the Northern Illinois Big 12 West.

Girls Tennis: Rochelle takes the court for IHSA Class 1A Sectional

The Rochelle varsity girls tennis team returned to action at its home court for the IHSA Class 1A Rochelle Sectional on Friday. Juniors Ruth Gardner and Caitlin McMurray represented the Lady Hubs in singles play, while seniors Jasmine Rissman and Ashlynn Leininger suited up for doubles along with freshmen Josie Lundquist and MeLisa Young.
