Police Reports

On March 12 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Melanie Humphrey, 44, of Rockford, was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants.  The warrants were both issued for failure to appear by Rockford PD and Dekalb County Sheriff's Office.  This arrest was made with the help from a tip provided to Crime Stoppers. 

On March 12 at 6:55 a.m. Mykhail O. Bartkiv, 52, of Glenview was cited for disobeying a stop sign. He signed a promise to comply and was given an April 26 Rochelle court date.

On March 11 at 3:13 a.m. Vincent P. Kuczynski, 24, of Rochelle was cited for speeding. He signed a promise to comply and was given an April 5 Rochelle court date.

On March 8 at approximately 2:21 p.m. deputies arrested Harley Beck, 22, of Mendota when she turned herself into the Ogle County Jail. She was arrested an outstanding warrant for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Beck will return to court on April 5 at 9 a.m.

On March 5 at 10:06 a.m. Tony T. Parker, 38, of Rock Island was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released on a notice to appear with an April 5 Rochelle court date.

On March 5 at approximately 8:43 a.m. Sadiki Raymond, 35, of Rockford turned himself on an outstanding Ogle County failure to appear warrant. Raymond appeared in court and was released. Raymond will return to court on March 27.

On March 1 at 12:37 p.m. Kristina M. Armenta, 37, of Rockford was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant. She paid $300 and was released with an April 5 Ogle County court date.

On March 1 at approximately 9:06 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Grant Street in Byron. Upon investigation, Ariel C Williamsen, 32, of Sterling, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, and an active Lee County warrant for failure to appear. Williamsen was also cited for no front registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Williamsen was transported to the Ogle County Jail before being released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On Feb. 27 at 6:54 a.m. Robert Thompson, 55, of Sterling was cited for speeding 50 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given an April 5 Rochelle court date.

On Feb. 27 at approximately 8:45 a.m. deputies arrested Sean Callaway, 28, of Dixon when he turned himself into the Ogle County Jail. He was arrested an outstanding Ogle County warrant for driving while license suspended. There was no bond set on the warrant and Callaway appeared in court on Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. Callaway was released and will return to court on April 28 at 9 a.m.

On Feb. 22 at 10:02 a.m. Irma Ugalde, 28, of Rochelle was cited for no valid registration. She signed a promise to comply and was given an April 5 Rochelle court date.

On Feb. 23 at approximately 3 p.m. deputies arrested Montana Chesko, 21, of Rochelle on an outstanding warrant for aggravated battery to a nurse.  Chesko appeared in court and was arrested on a failure to appear warrant. Chesko posted bond and does not have to return to court.

On Feb. 20 at 12:53 p.m. Christopher C. Messer, 41, of Ashton was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released on a notice to appear with a March 15 Rochelle court date.

On Feb. 21 at approximately 8:45 a.m. Yulisa Regalado-Lopez, 25, of Rochelle turned herself in to the Ogle County Jail for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for cancelled, revoked or suspended registration. She appeared in court on Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. and was released on a recognizance bond.  Regalado-Lopez will return to court on April 8 at 9 a.m.

On Feb. 14 at 2:03 p.m. James E. Reints, 87, of Rochelle was cited for improper lane usage. He signed a promise to comply and was given a March 15 Rochelle court date.

On Feb. 15, the Special Operations Unit of the Ogle County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant at a residence located on 2940 S. Skare Road in rural Rochelle. The search warrant was executed based on information provided by federal partners about illegal activities taking place at the residence. During the search, Laurie A. Watson, the occupant of the residence, was arrested on charges related to drugs and firearms.  Under the Pretrial Fairness Act, Ms. Watson was released on a future court date.

On Feb. 13 at 2:58 p.m. Tyron J. Moore, 27, of Rochelle was arrested on an outstanding DeKalb County warrant. He paid $375 and was released with a Feb. 26 DeKalb County court date.

On Feb. 13 at approximately 10:25 a.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 19,000 block of East Illinois Route 72 in Monroe Center. After further investigation, deputies arrested Adam Malone, 33, of DeKalb, for driving while license suspended. Malone was additionally cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Malone was released on a notice to appear with a future court date given.

On Feb. 9 at 11:19 a.m. Steven K. Baldwin, 60, of Rochelle was arrested for driving while license revoked and for an outstanding Ogle County warrant and transferred.

On Feb. 9 at around 3:18 p.m. deputies responded to the area of South Skare Road and East Hemstock Road for the report of a two-vehicle accident. When deputies arrived there were two vehicles in the northwest ditch, a gold Chevy and a black Chevy. After a brief investigation it was learned that the gold Chevy, driven by Jerome Wysocki, 75, of Rochelle, was traveling westbound on East Hemstock Road. The black Chevy, driven by Maylene Carreno, 35, of Mt. Morris, was traveling northbound. Wysocki stopped at the stop sign then proceeded into the intersection to continue west bound at which time the gold and black Chevys collided in the intersection. Wysocki was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and he was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Carreno and Wysocki's minor passengers were uninjured.

On Feb. 5 at 9:55 a.m. Antonio M. Martinez, 31, of Rochelle was arrested for violation of an order of protection and transferred.

On Feb. 1 at approximately 7:24 a.m. deputies responded to the 4,000 block of West Illinois Route 72 in reference to a one-vehicle accident in the ditch. After investigation, deputies learned a grey Jeep, driven by Lita Johnson, 19, of Forreston, was traveling eastbound in the 4,000 block of West Illinois Route 72 on the ice-covered road. Johnson then lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve and traveled off the roadway's south side before striking several small trees. The vehicle sustained minimal front end and side damage. Johnson refused medical attention at the scene. Leaf River Fire and EMS assisted with the accident.

On Feb. 2 at 12:58 p.m. Brandon S. Bergman, 36, of Rochelle was arrested on an outstanding DeKalb County warrant. He was released on a notice to appear with a Feb. 13 court date.

On Feb. 2 at approximately 2:39 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Freeport Road and Illinois Route 52 for the report of a two-vehicle accident between a truck and a semi. Upon further investigation it was learned the pickup truck drove through the stop sign and impacted with the semi. Driver of the pickup truck, Joseph Emmerson, age age 52 of Rockford, was cited for disregarding a stop sign. No injuries were sustained from the accident. Ogle County Deputies were assisted by Polo EMS, Ogle County Emergency Management, and Polo Police Department.

On Jan. 30 at approximately 8:47 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 64 for a reported two-vehicle crash. After a brief investigation, it was determined that a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Daniel Miller, 75, of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, was westbound on Illinois Route 64 and disregarded the stop sign at Illinois Route 251. A Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Priscilla Rodriguez, 38, of Rockford, was southbound on Illinois Route 251 and was struck in the intersection on the driver's side by the Ram pickup. Rodriguez was extricated from her vehicle and transported to a local hospital by Rochelle Fire for suspected non-life-threatening injuries. Miller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and was released on scene by medical personnel. Miller shall appear in court at a later date. Ogle County Deputies were assisted by the Illinois State Police, Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire and Rochelle Fire.
