On Jan. 17 at 9:14 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 75 eastbound for a registration violation. After an investigation, Benjamin Morgan, 27, of Sterling, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Morgan was also issued a citation for no front registration. Morgan was released on a notice to appear.

On Jan. 17 at 9:43 a.m. Yee Yim Chiu, 78, of Peru was cited for improper U turn. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Feb. 7 Rochelle court date.

On Jan. 14 at approximately 11:20 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Dutch Road and Illinois Route 251.  After investigation, deputies placed Marquetavion Freeman, 27, of Rockford under arrest for no valid license. Freeman was additionally issued a citation for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Freeman was released on a notice to appear at the scene and given a future court date.

On Jan. 15 at 9:17 a.m. Donna E. Bailey, 55, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 53 in a 35 miles per hour zone. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Feb. 7 Rochelle court date.

On Jan. 10 at 1:04 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Steward Road for improper lane usage. After an investigation, Madeline Mills, 27, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, was arrested for driving while her license was suspended. Mills was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

On Jan. 10 at 11:06 a.m. Rocio S. Mejia, 34, of Rochelle was cited for speeding. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Feb. 7 Rochelle court date.

On Jan. 7 at 2:11 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of 5,000 North German Church Road. After a brief investigation, the driver, Douglas Keeling, 49, of Loves Park, was arrested for driving while license revoked. Keeling was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was processed and released on a notice to appear. Keeling was also cited for no splash guards.

On Jan. 7 at 12:15 a.m. Steven Gonzalez, 32, of Rochelle was cited for expired registration, suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Feb. 7 Rochelle court date.

On Jan. 3 at approximately 7:56 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 72 and Limestone Road. After an investigation, deputies cited Deonrda Harvey, 37, of Rockford, for driving while their license was suspended and expired registration. Harvey was released on a notice to appear at the scene and was given a future court date.

On Jan. 3 at 2:12 p.m. Julie Haray, 48, of Rockford was cited for disregarding a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Jan. 24 Rochelle court date.

Deputies with the assistance of Mt. Morris and Byron Police Departments responded to the 5000 block of West Pond Road, in rural Leaf River for a domestic disturbance.  After an investigation, Allissa Diddens, 23, of Leaf River, was arrested for domestic battery.  Diddens was transported to the Ogle County Jail and lodged waiting on a court appearance.

On Dec. 27 at 11:59 a.m. David L. Echelbarger, 33, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 60 in a 40 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Jan. 24 Rochelle court date.

On Dec. 18, Rochelle Police cited Anthony W. Strong, 35, Rockford, for speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating with a suspended registration. He posted a promise to comply and court date is set for Jan. 10.

On Dec. 16 at approximately 2:36 a.m. deputies responded to the 6,700 block of North River Road in reference to a single-vehicle accident. After further investigation Jacob Hanners, 28, of Rockford, was cited for improper lane usage, failure to report an accident involving property damage, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Hanners was released on a notice to appear.

On Dec. 18 at 3:39 p.m. Eric W. Camp, 60, of Rochelle was arrested for driving while license suspended. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Jan. 10 Rochelle court date.

On Dec. 13 at 1:10 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Kilbuck Road and Illinois Route 72.  Upon arrival, officers determined that a 2006 Prius pulled into the path of a 2024 GMC 3500 series pickup and was struck head on.  The driver of the Prius, Katharine A Korinek, 37, of DeKalb, was cited for improper left turn and no insurance.  A passenger, Sarah M. Korinek, 33, of DeKalb, and Katharine were taken to Swedish American Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the GMC, Spencer Anderson, 21, Machesney Park, was taken to Saint Anthony's Hospital for minor injuries. The Ogle County Sheriff's Office was assisted by IDOT, Illinois State Police, Kirkland Fire Ambulance, New Milford Ambulance, Monroe Center Fire, Stillman Valley Ambulance.

On Dec. 15 at 4:32 p.m. Randall P. Masterson, 75, of Rochelle was arrested on an Ogle County warrant and transferred.

On Dec. 10 at approximately 12:32 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Hillcrest Avenue.  After investigation, deputies placed Alfonso Thomas, 44, of Rockford, under arrest for driving while license revoked.  Thomas was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Thomas was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On Dec. 9 at 10:05 p.m. Daniel O. Aguilar, 21, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 56 in a 35 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Jan. 10 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 28 deputies received a report of a theft in the 6,100 block of West Pines Road.  After investigation, deputies placed Brandon Montag, 30, of Byron under arrest for theft over $500 (class-three felony) on Dec. 6 at approximately 4:18 p.m. Montag was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

On Dec. 4 at 7:07 p.m. Brandt T. Wolter, 20, of Chana was cited for a headlight violation. He signed a promise to comply.

On Dec. 2 at approximately 12:39 a.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of South Lowell Park Road. After further investigation Brian Cash, 61, of Oregon, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance - cocaine, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Cash was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. Cash was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear.

On Dec. 3 at 8:20 p.m. Gustavo Ramos Meija, 38, of Rochelle was arrested for no driver’s license and cited for uninsured vehicle. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Jan. 10 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 26 deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 14,000 block of West Illinois Route 72.  As a result of that traffic stop, Baran C. Tzapinol, 72, of Pearl City, was issued citations for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.  Tzapinol was released at the scene with a notice to appear in court mid-December.
