HILLCREST — Marvin Wagner celebrated his 86th birthday Saturday even while social distancing.

His daughters organized a special parade for him with the help of the Rochelle and Ogle/Lee Hillcrest Fire Departments. Wagner, who has always been a supporter of the fire departments and has attended more than 40 Firemen’s Balls over the years, was treated to a parade of fire department apparatus.

The family, as well as Wagner, are appreciative of the fire department for making his day special during these difficult times. Relatives and friends from all over northern Illinois were in the parade for his birthday which he usually spends with family eating a dinner out, which of course he was unable to do this year.
