ROCHELLE – City of Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows is now accepting applications for the position of city council member to fill the remainder of his term left vacant following his election to the mayoral office.
The term expires April 30, 2021. Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 17th at city hall.
As a council-manager form of municipal government, city council members are responsible for setting the policy carried out by the city manager and staff. The council works closely as a group to set strategic goals for the future of the organization and partners with the city manager to identify steps to achieve and progress on the objectives established.
Bimonthly meetings take place the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and a variety of opportunities to be involved in groundbreaking events, ribbon cuttings and other celebrations exist throughout each month.
