ROCHELLE — Audrey Brink, age 88, of Rochelle, IL passed away on October 25, 2024 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. Audrey was born December 17, 1935 to Adolf and Florence (Kroeche) Brink. She was one of five children, and spent nearly her entire life in Rochelle, IL. Audrey was an active member of Elim Reformed Church for her whole life. She worked an amazing 63 years at the Rochelle Community Hospital. She was known to be especially fond of caring for many infants over the years. She found much joy in rocking the babies whenever she could. For years, she would travel with friends, visiting many places, but especially liked her time in New Mexico. Viewing the fall foliage anywhere was always a source of joy for Audrey.
Audrey knew no strangers, and made so many friends over the years, everywhere she went. She was known to be kind and caring, with a smile that could light up the room. She will always be remembered for her love for her family. Though technically Audrey was an Aunt, Great Aunt and even a Great, Great Aunt, she always felt more like a parent or grandparent.
Audrey is survived by her niece, Patricia Roush, her nephew, Jeffrey (Kathryn) Hand; great nieces and nephews; Eric Roush, Sara (Jason) Quincer, David VanderVennet, Elizabeth (Joseph) Ambrogio, and Jennifer (Jesse) Sanchez; as well as several great-great nieces and nephews. Additionally, Audrey had close family ties to Daniel, Becky, and Katie Roush.
Audrey was predeceased by her beloved nephew, Walter Roush, in 2022, and siblings: Evelyn Hand, in 2023, Maury Brink in 1960, and two infant siblings: Christina and Blanche Mae.
