OREGON — Beverly A Grimes, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Oregon, Illinois. Bev was born August 7, 1942 to John and Alberta (Grubb) Curry in Geff, Illinois. She worked in quality control inspection for Burgess-Norton Manufacturing in Geneva, IL for over 20 years. She and her late husband, Jerry Long, retired to the countryside in Ashton, IL in 1998. She worked as a Walmart pharmacy tech in Rochelle, IL, and as a window teller for First National Bank in Rochelle and Ashton. Starting in 2003, Bev and Jerry owned and operated TJ’s Lounge in downtown Rochelle for 17 years. She also served as treasurer for the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and her loving son Joe Matchett.
Bev is survived by two sons: Les (Rene) Matchett of Tomahawk, WI and Travis Grimes of Ashton, IL; sister, Jane Moore of Fairfield, IL; two granddaughters: Lindsay (Kirk) Foster of Geneva, IL and Lauren (Robert) Lea of Elgin, IL; two great-grandsons, and two step-great-granddaughters.
