ROCKFORD — The Rochelle Basketball Club third and fourth-grade boys basketball team went undefeated during the fall session of the Bill Howard Basketball League at the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford. The RBC boys went 10-0 during the season, which tipped off in November and concluded on Saturday, Feb. 1. The team averaged 41 points per game during the season.
“Many games we had all ten players score, but even if they didn't score, they all contributed in other ways to help the team,” coach Jeff Dickey said. “They continued to improve throughout the season, and were able to pick up on anything we challenged them with. The group has had much of its success due to the kids caring for another and playing together as a team.”
The team outscored its opponents 416-118 over 10 games. The team is currently competing in the Upstate Illini League in Winnebago, where the boys are 4-1 over five games with one loss coming in sudden death. The team includes Tate Bigelow, Xander Gonzales, Jacob Chadwick, Paul Jr. Martinez, Conrad Harper, Connor Isley, Quade Dickey, Bryce Adolph, Colton Hibshman and Elliot Huff. The team is coached by Jeff Dickey, Jason Harper and Justin Adolph.
