ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub varsity soccer earned a bounce-back victory on Saturday, when senior forward Alberto Casillas scored twice and junior goalkeeper Antonio Hueramo collected five saves to lead the purple and white over Freeport in nonconference action.

Junior forward Antonio Ruiz and senior midfielder Fernando Diaz each added goals for the Hubs, who took down the Pretzels 4-1 to snap a three-game losing streak. Rochelle’s defense stood strong, as Freeport managed just one goal despite outshooting the Hubs 18-12 and tying Rochelle in shots on goal with eight. The Hubs (9-10-1, 3-4 Interstate 8) will resume their Interstate 8 Conference schedule with a home match against Morris on Monday evening.

A scoreless first half gave way to an action-filled second half, where the Hubs took the lead after Ruiz found the net during the 44th minute. Rochelle surged ahead after Casillas found Diaz for a goal in the 51st minute before adding a goal of his own during the 54th minute. Casillas earned his brace with a goal in the 59th minute, giving the Hubs a 4-0 advantage over Freeport.
