MAPLE PARK — The Rochelle Hub varsity soccer team faced Ottawa for third place in the Interstate 8 Conference tournament on Saturday. Sophomore Eli Luxton scored Rochelle’s first and only goal, with the Hubs falling 3-1 to finish fourth and drop to 8-9 overall this season. Rochelle outshot Ottawa 11-4 and outpaced the Pirates 5-3 in shots on goal during the game.

The Pirates struck first before Rochelle evened the match at 1-1 on Luxton’s goal and an assist from sophomore Diego Salazar. Ottawa followed with two unanswered goals to seal the win over the Hubs. Rochelle finished with five saves in net and totaled three corner kicks.
