LASALLE — Seniors Alberto Casillas and Fernando Diaz each found the back of the net on Wednesday evening, when the Rochelle Hub varsity soccer team faced LaSalle-Peru.
Junior Antonio Hueramo recorded two saves for the Hubs, who held the Cavaliers to only four shots on goal and beat LaSalle-Peru 2-0 to earn their fourth shutout win in conference play this season. Rochelle (11-10-1, 5-4 Interstate 8) took control midway through the match, when Casillas scored in the 42nd minute and Diaz connected on an assist from junior Antonio Ruiz in the 50th minute. The Hubs will conclude the regular season at Ottawa on Monday evening.
Casillas and Diaz each totaled five shots for the Hubs, who outshot LaSalle-Peru 18-4 and 8-4 in shots on goal. Ruiz added four shots and junior Kevin Orozco finished with three shots.
