FREEPORT — Four Rochelle Hub netters brought home medals from the Freeport Fresh/Soph Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Freshmen Brock Heller and Austin Hartnett won the team's lone championship, finishing first at No. 1 doubles.
Heller and Hartnett went 3-0 over three matches, earning a 10-6 win over Hampshire as well as a 10-2 win over Freeport and a 10-4 win over Hononegah. Sophomores Amor Lara and Owen Carmichael each medaled in singles play, with Lara taking third at No. 1 singles and Carmichael taking fifth at No. 2 singles.
Lara went 2-1 over three matches, defeating Freeport 10-1 and Hampshire 10-4. Carmichael went 1-1 over two matches, scoring a 10-7 win over Sterling. Rochelle finished fourth in the tournament, scoring 26 points.
