ROCHELLE — The Rochelle varsity tennis team hosted Yorkville and Harlem for two matches on Wednesday. The Hubs fell against both opponents during the doubleheader, losing 5-0 against Yorkville before losing 5-0 against Harlem to drop to 0-14 on the season.
YORKVILLE
Senior Emilio Nava was swept 0-6, 0-6 by Ryan Waugh at No. 1 singles, while junior Sean Flanagan earned two first-set games in a 2-6, 0-6 loss against Austin Fallon at No. 2 singles. Seniors Alex Galambos and Hector Garcia managed one game in their 1-6, 0-6 loss to Sam Clough and Briggs Krempski at No. 1 doubles.
Senior Diego Lopez and freshman Jason Zheng also won one game in a 0-6, 1-6 loss against Zack Nauman and John Gruber at No. 2 doubles. Junior Gabe Nava and senior Gage Sullivan lost 0-6, 1-6 to Adam Borowiak and Matt Fries at No. 3 doubles.
HARLEM
Emilio Nava took two games in a 0-6, 2-6 loss against Lucas Crane at No. 1 singles, and Sean Flanagan fought hard against Joey Leese at No. 2 singles, falling 2-6, 4-6. Hector Garcia and Alex Galambos earned two games in a 2-6, 0-6 loss against Isaac Wolf and Benjamin Johnson at No. 1 doubles.
Diego Lopez and Jason Zheng nearly took the first set over Recil Hensley and Marco Jancovich at No. 2 doubles, falling 5-7, 1-6. Gabe Nava and Gage Sullivan went three sets with Maxwell Fox and Evan Aaronson at No. 3 doubles, winning the second set but losing the match 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-10.
