OREGON — The Rochelle varsity boys track and field team tied for eighth place out of 22 schools in the 43rd Annual Carlson Hark Classic at Oregon this past Friday. The Hubs scored 38 points to finish tied with Lena-Winslow.
Senior Mason DeLille won the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 43-9 ½ while sophomore Trevor Goodwin placed third with a school fresh-soph record leap of 42-0 ¾. DeLille finished second in the high jump with a personal-best height of 6 feet and junior Aaron Vondergathen took sixth in the pole vault with a clearance of 10-6.
Rochelle placed fourth in the 3200-meter relay (Connor Lenkaktis, Jessee Infante, Santi Cordoba and Gyvanziel Quinonez) with a time of 8:48.77 and sophomore Aiden Seldal took 10th in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:28.61. Senior Ryan Friestad finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.02 seconds and Rochelle’s 800-meter relay team (Trevor Goodwin, Ben Hickey, Greg Ricketts and Dallas List) placed 10th with a time of 1:42.73.
Senior Dylan Finkboner took ninth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.45 and Santi Cordoba finished eighth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:54.16. Rochelle’s 1600-meter relay team (Connor Lenkaitis, Greg Ricketts, Ben Hickey and Gyvanziel Quinonez) placed eighth with a time of 3:42.71.
