ROCHELLE — Bryan John Campbell, 40, passed away from injuries sustained in a multi car accident on July 16, 2024  that also took the life of his beloved wife, Asheri.  Bryan was born on May 6, 1984, to John “Jack” W. and Gayle M. (Schmidt) Campbell  in Winfield, IL.  On May 12, 2009, he married Asheri Lynn Davis in Las Vegas, NV. 

Bryan graduated with a Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University, choosing a career path in library sciences.  He pursued his career at Northern Illinois University for several years before beginning work in the library at the Dixon Correctional Center in 2020.

Above all else, Bryan loved spending time with his family.  His beloved sons, Grayson and Gryffin, were the center of his world.  He enjoyed his remaining free time at the bowling alley and playing board and card games with friends and family.  He was an avid sports fan and could always be found rooting for, and grousing about, his beloved Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Bryan is survived by two sons: Grayson and Gryffin; parents: Jack (Becky) Campbell of St. Petersburg, FL and Gayle Campbell of Rochelle; brother, Brett Campbell of Henderson, NV; grandparents: George Schmidt of Rochelle, IL and Leilani (Roy) White of Honolulu, HI; in-laws, Phil and April Davis of Steward, IL; sister-in-law, Calista (Ben Johnson) Gilszmer of Rockfalls, IL,  nephew, Nolan Gilszmer and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bryan was preceded in death by grandparents: Jean Schmidt and Jack Campbell. 

The visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 26, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, Rochelle with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating. Cremation care will take place after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bryan and Asheri Campbell Memorial Trust Fund that has been established at the Holcomb Bank in Rochelle.
