ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School recently congratulated the January Rotary Student of the Month, Hailey Bunger. Bunger is a junior who has accumulated 464 Silver Service volunteer hours over her time at RTHS.

“Hailey helps out whenever and wherever she is needed. Just some of her volunteer hours have come from helping at the Lions Club pancake breakfast, Little League concessions, Little League baseball and softball practices, REC basketball practices, Show Choir competition, Eswood pork chop dinners, garage sales for the elderly, Operation Christmas Child, Salvation Army bell ringer and the Lindenwood and Rochelle Food pantries,” an RTHs Facebook post said. “Hailey also volunteers her time at St. Paul Lutheran School and Church working sporting events and helping with registration, Sunday school, and VBS. She has also volunteered as a VBS group leader at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran Church, and First Presbyterian Church. Somehow Hailey also finds time to be a member of the Interact Club, Speech Team, RTHS and City bands and helps her teachers out whenever she can. She uses her study hall hour to volunteer as a Counseling Center monitor where she is always ready and willing to help out however she can. Mrs. Harvey says that she is a very responsible, courteous and conscientious student who strives to be the best that she can be. Congratulations Hailey! Thank you for having a servant’s heart.  You make a difference in our school and community.”
