ROCHELLE — Carole J. Zimmerman, 90, of Rochelle, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Manor Court in Rochelle with family by her side.  She was born on December 20, 1933 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Charles H. and Hazel G. (Bearrows) Priess. She married William “Bill” H. Zimmerman on October 21, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle, he preceded her on July 12, 2020.

Carole met her future husband, Bill, while working as a carhop at the Double E Drive-In in Creston, IL. She was a member of the Rochelle First Presbyterian Church. Carole was a homemaker, known for her nurturing touch, great cooking and excellent baking.  Many holidays were celebrated with family enjoying her delicious food and beautifully adorned home for each holiday.

Carole is survived by her three children, Bradley (Jan) Zimmerman of Rice Lake, WI, Anne Mott of Lindenwood, IL, and Lori (Dan McDermott) Bearrows of Rochelle; six grandchildren, Paul (Janel) Mott of Wautoma, WI, Christine (Ryan) Schweitzer of Lindenwood, IL, Julie (Lance) Charnock, Amanda Bearrows both of Rochelle, Jason (Kailee) Zimmerman of Chippewa Falls, WI, Ryan (Amanda) Zimmerman of Janesville, WI; 13 great-grandchildren: Marisa and Dylan Whaley, Drake (Haley Vogt) Charnock, Myah Portilla, Rowyn and Chayton Mott, Griffin Ohlinger, Nolen Schweitzer, Taylor (Nate Cardinal) Bearrows, Hailey and Jonathan Bearrows and Autumn and Ivy Zimmerman; two great great grandchildren: Malikai Cardinal, Chryse Charnock and baby Hazel due in February; sister, Rebecca (Fred) Graber and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bill, Carole is preceded in death by her step fathers, Max Priess and Richard Lambkin.

The family would like to thank Liberty Village-Hawthorne Inn and the skilled nursing in Memory Care, who all helped care for and doted on Carole during her final years.  Also, thank you to St. Croix Hospice for their excellent care as well.

The visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, Rochelle.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.  Memorials may be made in Carole’s memory to the family to benefit Memory Lane at Liberty Village.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
