ROCHELLE – As the holiday season approaches that means it is time to decorate the house and start shopping for gifts, but it also means it is time to get your 2020 From the Heart Cash Calendar for the upcoming year.
Cash Calendar is a program that has been put on annually for the last seven years by the Rotary International Organization and the From the Heart Giving event. People purchase the calendars for $20 and have a chance to win different cash prizes every single day of the year.
Along with getting the chance to win money each day, people who purchase the calendars will be benefiting eight different non-profit organizations.
“The main goal of this program is to help the non-profit organizations that partner with From the Heart,” explained Rotarian David Eckhardt, the person in charge of the From the Heart event. “Where else can you spend $20 and help out eight organizations?”
All of the proceeds from the sale of calendars will benefit each of the From the Heart recipients.
There is a drawing every single day of the year, ranging in amount by the specific day. Each normal day of the week is $25, Sundays are $50, and other special days such as holidays range from $250-$1,000 drawings.

There is a slip at the bottom of the calendar where people put their name and number to be entered into the drawings.
“Each of the drawings very in amount, and there is no limit to the number of times a person can win. I have known multiple people who have won twice,” added Eckhardt.
Counting up all of the daily winners and special drawings, there is a total of $18,275 worth of cash prizes.
When someone purchases the calendar, along with being entered into the daily drawings and helping support the non-profit organizations. They also receive an insert with valuable coupons to 15 local businesses.
Even if someone were to buy a calendar and never win once, they would still get their money’s worth in coupons.
“There is more than $20 worth of benefits in just the coupons themselves,” said Eckhardt.
Calendars can be purchased at a variety of locations in Rochelle and surrounding communities such as: First State Bank, Stillman Bank, HOPE Chest, the Rochelle News-Leader, and Hub City Senior Center in Rochelle, Merlin’s in Oregon, Shining Star in Dixon, and the Amboy News Office in Amboy.
Calendars may also be purchased through the mail, by clipping out the ad in the Rochelle News-Leader paper and sending the form along with a $20 check to Rotary Calendar, PO BOX 372, Rochelle, IL 61068.
