Charles ‘Larry’ Lawrence Osborne

FRANKLIN GROVE — Charles “Larry” Lawrence Osborne, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 5, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family in Franklin Grove, Illinois.  Larry was born on April 4, 1943 to Glenn and Mary Ellen (Grubb) Osborne in Rochelle, IL. He served with the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.  On June 23, 1994, he married Billie Sage at the Lighthouse Church in Oregon, IL.

Larry was a wonderful son, husband, father, papa and great papa Charlie. In his mother’s last years, he cared for her with such compassion, patience and understanding. Larry loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working in the yard.  Woodworking and tinkering with motors was another favorite pastime.  

Larry is survived by his wife, Billie of Franklin Grove, IL; four children: Tanya Sage of Rochelle, IL, Susann (Jorge) De La torre of Monroe Center, IL, Samantha Sage of Dixon, IL and Brian (Marci) Sage of Steward, IL; brother, Wayne (Judy) Osborne of Rochelle, IL; six grandchildren: Lyndsey (James) O’Brien, Devan (Taylor) Hayward, Krynn Hayward, Kalon (Jake) McKnight, Trevor Owen and Gracin Sage; 12 great grandchildren: Kelise, Dyandre and Jett O’Brien, Kenlee and Kaiyah Hayward, Eaden Hayward, Moxie, Huxley, Rexlynn and Dax McKnight and Gavin and Bryson Owen;  and many special people: Rick (Sue) Sage, Dawn Sage, Terri (Bobby) Reynosa, Chrissy Pickle, Mary (Lester) Davis, Candy Cook, Denise (Charlie) Becker and Richard Osborne.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Osborne and his great granddaughter, Leighton O'Brien.
