ROCHELLE — Shirley Villa was presented the Rochelle Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution's Community Service Award for her 16 years of volunteer service as manager of the Presbyterian Thrift Shop.
The Thrift Shop provides affordable-priced clothing, household goods, books and miscellaneous items. The funds generated by the Thrift Shop through the sale of most items at a cost of $1 or less are further used to support additional missions such as the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, Transportation for Christ, Three Angels Orphanage in Haiti and Casa Hogar Orphanage in Mexico. Shirley was joined by her daughters and granddaughter.
