Deputies arrest couple on DUI charges

On June 30 at approximately 11:01 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop on Lost Nation Road just into Lee County. After investigation, deputies placed Brandon Barber, 35, of Rochelle, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Barber was also issued citations for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. Barber was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On June 30 at approximately 12:18 a.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of East IL Route 72 and Marrill Road. After a short investigation, Michael Peterson and Dena Peterson were placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Michael was also issued citations for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Dena was issued a citation for unlawful parking. Michael and Dena were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.
On June 28, the following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:
Martin Chavez, 38, of DeKalb, for failure to Appear. Chavez has a bond of $2,366 full cash and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Chavez was scheduled to appear in court July 1.
Jaime Carter, 38, of Oregon, for drug court sanctions. Carter has no bond and was scheduled to appear in court July 1.
