ROCHELLE — Rochelle School District 212 Board of Education members approved the district’s 2020 fiscal year tax levy during the monthly meeting at Rochelle Township High School on Monday. The tax levy will increase by roughly 5 percent from the 2019 fiscal year tax levy.
Principal Chris Lewis presented board members with attendance data for remote and in-person learners at RTHS over November and December. Remote learners missed no classes 62 percent of the time in November and 46 percent of the time in December. Remote learners missed one class 74 percent of the time in November and 67 percent in December. Remote learners who missed two or more classes were at 85 percent for November and 81 percent for December.
Lewis said students conducting the hybrid in-person learning model were in school 85 percent of the time during November and 86 percent of the time in December. Those same students attended classes online 73 percent of the time in November and 65 percent in December.
