CHICAGO — Ellie J. Cooper, 79, passed away on April 17, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois.

He was born in Rochelle on Aug. 25, 1940, the son of Curtis and Ethel Cooper, long-time Rochelle residents.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Jackson (the late Doba); and his nephew, Elzie Cooper.

He is the beloved brother of Curtis “Buddy” (Marilyn) Cooper, Charlaine (Harold) Kohn and Edna (the late Arthur) Govia; nieces, nephews and friends.

Services and internment will be held in Rochelle at a later date.
