ROCHELLE — The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District released a statement Thursday evening detailing measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The statement can be seen below.
Over the course of the last seven days, let alone the last 24 hours, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has prompted unprecedented changes. Our leadership team has been meeting daily to discuss the most up-to-date information and the associated effects on our patrons.
Please know that at this time, there are no reported cases within Ogle County. In prioritizing the health and wellness of the community, as of March 12, The Flagg-Rochelle Park District has made the decision to suspend all our programs, leagues, classes or any occasion that requires individuals to travel and gather in groups of more than 25.
This suspension is for an undetermined amount of time; updates will be posted on our website and social media page. Participants in lower enrollment programs that are continuing are advised to follow the information being circulated by healthcare officials:
Avoid getting closer than six feet to anyone coughing or sneezing. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer that has 60-95 percent alcohol. This is especially important after going to the bathroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash, and then wash your hands. Stay home if you are sick. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces regularly.
Questions or personal concerns regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) should be directed to your local healthcare provider. This remains a dynamic situation and we will update our decisions and recommendations on a regular basis.
