ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub football program held its season-ending awards banquet on Tuesday evening. A number of student-athletes took home RTHS, Interstate 8 Conference and IHSFCA All-State awards.
Eleven Hubs including Brode Metzger, Xavier Villalobos (Honorable Mention), Jack Pavlak, Jack Carmichael, Ethan Goodwin, Grant Gensler, Roman Villalobos, Kaiden Morris, Alex Pemberton (Honorable Mention), Dylan Manning and Ryan Senne (Honorable Mention) were presented with Interstate 8 All-Conference awards. Additionally, 22 members of the football team received Interstate 8 Academic All-Conference recognition for their achievements in the classroom this year.
Grant Gensler was named the Hackett Award winner as Rochelle's Most Valuable Player. Colton Czekala was named the Ellis Sportsmanship Award winner, while Jordan Bly brought home the Scout Team Player of the Year Award for a second straight season.
Grant Gensler and Jack Carmichael (Honorable Mention) were each recognized as IHSFCA Class 5A All-State honorees this season. Dylan Manning was also recognized as an IHSFCA Class 5A Academic All-State honoree.
