MORRIS — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity basketball team closed out its Interstate 8 Conference home-and-home series against Morris on Friday evening. Senior Alivia Henkel led the Lady Hubs with 11 points, four steals and four rebounds as the Redskins won 58-42. Rochelle (10-14, 1-6 Interstate 8) will return home to face Ottawa on Tuesday evening.
Junior Kendyl Darby finished with eight points and two rebounds, while senior Loretta Atkinson totaled six points and three steals on the Rochelle side. Sophomore Jaydin Dickey compiled six points, two rebounds and two steals for the Lady Hubs, who fell behind 29-14 after the first quarter but fought back in the second quarter to make the score 38-26 at halftime.
Landrie Callahan spearheaded the charge for Morris, totaling a game-high 28 points while adding 21 rebounds including 12 offensive rebounds to end the evening with a double-double.
