ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team recognized senior Kiya Porter during its Interstate 8 Conference matchup against Morris on Monday. Porter rolled a 376 series for the Lady Hubs, who fell short in their 1,703-1,565 loss to the Redskins.
Junior Alyssa Schwanert fired a match-high 531 series for Rochelle (1-8), who will face Morris on the road Thursday. Morris edged Rochelle 560-508 in the first game. Schwanert threw 188 for the Lady Hubs, while Kaileah Sasser rolled 172 to lead the Redskins.
“It’s been a joy to work with Kiya,” head coach Eric Widick said. “She’s a fun kid and she tries hard when she’s out there. She has fun with the game and I’ve enjoyed working with her.”
Morris took the second game 575-515 behind 191 from Sasser and 167 from Shaelee Ferrari. Schwanert bowled 190 and Porter added 140. The Redskins narrowly topped Rochelle in the third game, winning 568-542 as Taylor Krause rolled 162, Ferrari totaled 165 and Sasser fired 156. Schwanert rounded out her series with 153.
